Brady Tilghman joined Chicago Lawyers’ Committee in March 2023.  He serves as Program Counsel on the Transactional Legal Assistance team providing legal counseling, education, and policy and advocacy support to small businesses and nonprofits to advance economic development in Chicagoland’s disinvested communities.  Before joining Chicago Lawyers’ Committee, Brady managed a solo practice providing Chicagoans with affordable flat-fee transactional and litigation services and, before that, litigated complex commercial cases at multinational law firms.  He also spent four years as a middle school teacher with Chicago Public Schools, during which he served as a Fellow at the Mayor’s Office of Equity and Racial Justice, a Chicago Teachers Union delegate and committeeperson, a member of Chicago Public Schools’ Teacher Advisory Council, and a Local School Council representative at Oglesby Elementary School.

Brady received his law degree from the University of Michigan, which he attended on a Dean’s Scholarship.  He received a B.S. Mechanical Engineering and B.A. English, summa cum laude, from Lafayette College, and an M.A. Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education, where he graduated as valedictorian.
