What are next week's Local School Council elections about and why should you vote? Here's an infographic.

On Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19, elections will be held throughout Chicago Public Schools for Local School Councils, or LSCs. These important management teams, made up of parents, community members, teachers and staff, and sometimes student advisers, determine how a school's funds are allocated and whether to hire or fire a school principal.

Because LSCs are based on school attendance zones, these are the most hyperlocal elections in the city! Your vote has a big impact on the equity and quality of your local schools

Our infographic shows you everything you need to know about voting in the upcoming LSC elections.
